I have noted that the 3rd receiver presently shown on the following page of your RadioAlumni web site:

is a modified 1926 Victor/Northern Electric R-40.

This is also the same type of radio used in the "Interference Car" as shown in the first photo of your page. I have such a set in my collection and can supply you with other details if you require. This set still works and receives the local A.M. stations.
Thanks for a very interesting site. Now I understand why there is often a sledge hammer in pictures of such sets, I was worried there for a while.
