Ross Smyth as Radio Operator for TCA
During World War 2, many advances were made with flight. It was also the era to the birth of Commercial flight. Vision restrictions and flat feet prevented Ross from enlisting in active service with the air force. As such, he became a radio operator with Trans Canada Airlines which later became Air Canada. From there, his career excelled where he became the Executive Manager of Public Relations and traveled the world promoting commercial flight. It was an exciting time. New routes opened up and airports were built. In the 1950's and 60's, the family joined him on numerous trips around the globe.
