Passed
peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, NL on June 2,
2016 in his 78th year, Patrick Roche of Burin.
Patrick was born on December 29, 1937 in
St. John's. He attended Holy Cross in St. John's,
attended radio school in Gander, moved to Burin in
1958 to begin working as a radio operator with the then federal Ministry
of Transport. Patrick retired after 37 1/2 years of service with the
Canadian Coast Guard in 1993.
Predeceased by wife Lynette, infant sons,
daughter Anne, parents Philip and Rita Cheeseman, foster parents Peter and
Anne Roche, brother Philip Cheeseman, sister Frances Addis and
brothers-in-law Willem Tjepkema and Bruce Chislett.
Leaving
to celebrate his life are daughters Suzanne and Jacqueline, son-in-law
Craig, grandsons Ryan and Michael and sisters Selina Chislett and Mary
Tjepkema plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends in
Canada and USA.
The family will be receiving friends at
Serenity Funeral Home, Burin on Saturday, June 4th from 2-7 PM and Sunday
June 5th from 2-9PM.
A Prayer Vigil Will take place on Sunday
at 8:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will take place on Monday,
June 6 at 10AM at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Burin with
interment following at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Penney's
Pond.
