Jeffrey (Jeff) Hunter

1927 - 2007

 

Jeffrey (Jeff) W. E. Hunter of Calgary passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2007 at the age of 79 years. Jeff was born in Grenfell, SK on April 8, 1927.

 

He was in the newspaper business for a few years and then spent thirty-five years with the Federal Government with the Department of Transport and later the Department of Communications in Western Canada and the Yukon Territory.

 

Jeff found great relaxation in his gardening and spent many hours tending to his plants. Jeff leaves to mourn his loving wife Dorothy; sons Alan (Karen), Doug (Maria), and Gerald (Mira); two grandchildren Jeffrey and Lisa; and many nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his parents Fred and Teresa Hunter, brothers Ray and Alan, his sister Norma and his son Murray. A Memorial Service will be held at the All Angels Church in Grenfell, SK at a later date. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Unit 36 at the Foothills Medical Centre for their unparalleled care and compassion given to Jeff in his last days. In living memory of Jeff Hunter,
