Bernard (Bernie) G. Cormier

Started as an Electronic Technologist in 1971 - Retired in 2004

Started at Transport Canada - Worked on Decca Navigation Systems

Maintained Marine and Air Traffic Control Systems Equipment

Active in Ham Radio under call sign VE9BGC

 
 

 

Bernie graduated from the New Brunswick Community College in 1971 as an Electronic Technologist. He was employed with Transport Canada in 1972 then posted to Magdalen Islands in 1973. He worked on Decca navigation systems for ships, 1 kwatt marine HF transmitters and various equipment related to marine and air traffic control systems.
 

In 1977 he relocated to Dieppe N.B. and worked at the Moncton Air Traffic Control Center. The equipment he maintained were multi million dollar communication systems for the controllers, analog and digital recording, flight plan computer, VHF/UHF transmitter and receivers with various remote communication systems.

 

Bernie retired in 2004
