Obituary - Avis de décès

Herbert (Harry) Coles

1919 - 2012

On Sept. 11, 2012, Harry Coles passed away peacefully at the Golden Manor at the age of 93. Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen (2004), and daughter Cheryl (Walter predeceased) Skilton (1999). He is survived by his son, Doug (Gisele), grandchildren: Darrell, Glenn, & Todd Skilton, & David and Jennifer Coles.

Harry was a radio operator in the merchant marine during the 2nd World war and retired from the Ministry of Transport (Timmins Airport) after 35 years of service.

He enjoyed golf in the summers and curling in the winters and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. During the last 8 years, Harry’s blindness and memory loss greatly curtailed his active lifestyle.

A special thank you goes to the staff at East 2 Golden Manor for their dedicated care. A private funeral service was held on Friday Sept 14. Interment took place at the Timmins Cemetery. Donations to the Golden Manor would be appreciated.
