Served at naval shore stations and onboard ships and submarines - DOC Radio Inspector - CRTC - Telesat Canada - Industry Canada Spectrum Manager in Atlantic, Ontario & Quebec Regions.

Capt (N) Retired, CD, Royal Canadian Navy. A pillar in Amateur Dadio. Represented RAC at WRC Conferences in Geneva. Represented RAC on the Canadian Amateur Radio Advisory Board (CARAB).

Began as a railroad telegrapher in 1891 - Later worked for Canadian Marconi on ships and at coastal stations. Served in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve during WWI. Worked as a Radio Operator, Radio Inspector & as District Superintendent of Radio Regulations at DOT. Retired from DOT in 1957.

MENGELBERG     Paul Karl

Served in the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) during World War II. Was onboard U-26 when captured by HMS Rochester on 1 July 1940. Spent the rest of the war in a prisoner-of-war camp in Ontario. Returned to Canada after the war. Was an active Ham Radio Operator under call sign VE3IKS.
